Frequently Asked Questions:

What can I expect in my first session?

If this is your first time in therapy, you may notice that you feel somewhat nervous. This is completely normal. As a therapist, I am aware of this possibility and will try my best to make you feel as comfortable as possible. You will find that we will be developing the stage to dive into deeper issues, and will not be tackling the tough questions right away. For example, here are some questions I will ask: What brings you to therapy? What symptoms have you been experiencing, and for how long? What are your goals/expectations of therapy? I will also have gone over the intake information you filled out prior to session, and may ask for further clarification, but it’s always up to you on how much you want to share in our first session together. One of the most important things to remember is that therapy is a process and it takes time.

I am a Christian and would like for my faith to be a part of the therapeutic process. How does that work?

You will notice in the informed consent that there is an option to integrate Christianity with psychology, as well as a choice to incorporate prayer. Indicate whether you would like for these components to be included in therapy and I will make sure to implement them into treatment, that is, if you so desire. During the process of integration, you will find that I follow your leading. For example, if you bring something up in regards to God, I will process that with you by asking questions filtered through a biblical perspective. I can also provide integrative interventions that may help in your relationship with God and others.

Do I have to be a Christian to receive therapy?

No. I respect individual differences, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds, and you do not need to be Christian to work with me.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I am in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Optum, United Healthcare, Oxford, Oscar, and UMR. I can also provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance, where you may receive partial or full reimbursement for out of network PPO coverage. It would be best, however, to call your insurance to see what the out-of-network rate is as well as their process of reimbursement. Although most PPOs offer partial reimbursement, not all do, so it is highly recommended that you call your insurance before beginning therapy.

When do you offer appointments?

I see clients on Mondays from 12pm-9pm, Tuesdays 12pm-9pm; Thursdays from 12pm-9pm.

How long do your sessions last?

50 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.

Are you offering in-person sessions?

Yes, I am offering in-person services as well as telehealth.
